Bargello Trinket Box

Come stitch a small bargello piece that fits into a 3 inch square paper mache box. The first photo below shows a close up of the design. The fabric is 28 count and there will be a choice of 5 colorways shown in the second photo. . You can bring your own color choices if you prefer. You would need 4 colors of DMC, shaded from light to dark, plus black. This stitches up fast and the finishing is a snap. Kit includes painted box, fabric, and threads. If you use one, bring a 3 inch hoop.

Highlights

Several topics were discussed at our business meeting. New officers are needed for president. treasurer and assistant program chair. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact one of the current officers. In October, our meeting will be at the Barrington Library. In November, we have two workshops scheduled, so there will not be a general meeting. In December, the holiday party will be at the home of Susan Balsai.

Marilyn prepared a great little bargello box kit for us. On the white bag was a picture of the different colored boxes with the project title. Inside was the box, linen and instructions. There was also a sheet all about bargello. We got to choose our thread from a bag that was passed around with various colors. Marilyn presented some instructions and then we all got started on our project. With Marilyn’s help, most of us got the first two colors completed before we left the meeting. Since you stitch over 6 threads, this is a very quick project to complete! If you get your project done, you can add a picture to our Facebook page.

Our annual anniversary party will be in October at a different location – the Barrington Library. Hope to see you there! Our members must have been busy stitching over the past few months, because we had lots of great show and tell projects.
