It’s a very special meeting: the Lake Michigan Sampler Guild is celebrating its 11th Anniversary! We’re having a party with fun and food. There will be a special Anniversary surprise by Mary Ann Anderson. Don’t miss this special celebration!
Highlights
Our president Joyce Reed started the meeting with a sad announcement. One of our charter members, Elaine Hoagland, passed away on Thursday. She was one of the people who started our guild eleven years ago. She will be missed…
Joyce talked about the schedule which our new program chair, Lynn McVey, is planning for next year. We’ll be releasing more details as soon as plans are finalized. Joyce also talked about the officers that we need to elect for 2010 including assistant program chair, membership and treasurer. If you are interested in helping out the guild by filling one of these offices, please contact one of the board members.
Our program was very special: a party to celebrate our 11th anniversary. Mary Ann Anderson presented “Letter by Letter”, our 11th anniversary surprise! She talked briefly about the contents and how the book was put together. The book starts with a history of the Guild written by Amy Keaton followed by pages full of guild member contributions. The books were handed out and we all had the pleasure of looking through them to see the variety they contained. Many of our members contributed a chart for a favorite motif along with a sampler verse. Some of us had other members sign the page they contributed. We hope that you ordered one, because the book is outstanding! Thank you Mary Ann for your creativity and all of your hard work! |

We had cake, chocolate of course! It was decorated with “LMSG 11 years and still counting!”. How appropriate! The words were surrounded by a pretty cross stitch pattern made of very tasty frosting. |
Please join us for our annual tag sale in November. Our November meeting will be at the Wheaton Community Center.
We had many items for show and tell. Please click on the links below to see pictures and details.
