Date: 8/10/2008
Time: 1:30-4:00
Type: Meeting
Location: Wheaton Community Center
Teacher: LMSG-Kathy Matthews
Last spring Kathy Matthews had the opportunity to join other judges for a class on Knot Gardens at the Royal School of Needlework, just outside of London. Using seventeenth century designs and the grounds of Hampton Court Palace as inspiration, her classmates created their own three dimensional design on canvas. They used textured stitches in a variety of threads to create flower beds, topiary, and water features. Hear about the fascinating history of the Royal School of Needlework and Hampton Court Palace.
Highlights
Kathy brought a display with all kinds of pictures of the palace and its history.
