On Saturday, August 12, Margriet Hogue of The Essamplaire will be presenting the Elizabeth Jenkins sampler, a Scottish sampler from St. Ninians. The sampler is a bit different from typical Scottish samplers – the sampler does contain a large house similar to houses found on other Scottish samplers, but the house is surrounded by a pastoral scene with trees, a shepherdess and her sheep. The top half is basically cross stitch, some double running and cross over one. The bottom sections consist of trees worked with French knots, grass worked in split stitch, sheep that are worked in French knots and the Shepardhess which is split and tent stitch.
Kit cost is $154, teaching fee TBD.
