Eileen Bennett is a woman whose passion for samplers has propelled her into some very exciting arenas. As a designer she has sold over a half a million leaflets since she began in 1984. As a teacher, Eileen Bennett was in the classroom sharing her knowledge about the work of samplers over 200 days last year. She strongly believes that work being done today about samplers of the past will leave an important legacy for generations of embroiderers yet to come. This Jenison Michigan resident has authored four books to date:

  • A Note Book of Sampler Stitches, Volumes One and Two
  • A Note Book of Pulled Thread Stitches
  • The Evolution of Samplers ... Embroidery and Sampler Time Line ... A Four-Hundred Year History of Sampler Making

Sampler Stitches, Volume One is in its ninth printing. Each contains thoroughly researched sampler stitches that are historically accurate with easy to follow instructions. Mrs. Bennett has also written numerous articles for the following magazines and is current serving on the bard of Advisors for Antique Sampler and Needlework Quarterly

  • Just Cross Stitch
  • Counted Thread
  • Antique Sampler and Needlework Quarterly
