Join us for our annual guild picnic and progress check on our year long contracts at the home of Susan Balsai. The guild will provide the main course, chips, drinks and paper goods. If you would like to contribute a salad, dessert or other goodies, please let Carol Schaal know what you are bringing. It promises to be a casual afternoon of fun. Please direct questions to Susan. We promise you won't go away hungry!

In addition, bring along your contract project. You'll have an opportunity during show and tell to share your progress.

Highlights

LetterOur annual picnic was a complete success. We had perfect weather and great food. After enjoying our hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, salads and desserts, we had our business meeting.

Our president Joyce Reed announced that we have received a thank you letter from the Williamsburg Foundation for the donation we made to the Sue Studebaker Memorial Fund last year. It went towards the purchase of an alphabet sampler stitched by Lydia Burroughs dated 1792. Click on the letter at the right for a larger image.

We still have 10 openings for the Barbara Jackson Tea Time Basket workshop. There are 12 openings for Cherie. If you haven't registered yet, the deadline is August 12th. We are going to open registration to other guilds, so if you want to attend, make sure you sign up soon to reserve your place.

Mary Ann Anderson is making great progress on our anniversary book. All letters except one have been turned in. Thanks to everyone for their contributions to the book! We can't wait to see the results!

Traditionally, we review our contract projects at our annual picnic. Marilyn reviewed the contracts for members in attendance. Some members were already done and had their sampler framed while others responded "What project"? It was fun to see everyone's progress. We'll see who finishes in January!

There is no August meeting, so we will see everyone in September at the Barbara Jackson workshops. She has promised to bring lots of kits to sell, so make sure you join us at the September meeting!

We had several samplers for show and tell. Click on the links below to see the pictures.
