- July is the picnic at Susan Balsai's house.
- There is no meeting in August.
Mary Ann Anderson gave us an update on the progress of the 2009 Anniversary project. It's been very exciting to see the results come in. She had a notebook of all of the completed pages so that we could be inspired by the variety and creativity. If you have not yet turned in your pages, please give them to Mary Ann by the June meeting. This will give her plenty of time to compile them by our October Anniversary party. Amy Keaton presented the program: part three of her sampler collection. It has been several years since part two, so she had many new samplers to show us. We saw English, Dutch, Scottish and American samplers. There were samplers from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The variety was fantastic from a simple marking sampler to an ornate sampler stitched entirely with tiny beads. Amy shared the stories behind each sampler including what she knew about the sampler and the stitcher and how she found it. After her presentation, we all got a chance to come up to the front of the room and study the samplers up close. Thanks, Amy, for sharing your samplers with us! Hope to see everyone in June for group project: The Four Agreements. Even if you don't order the kit, we hope you will still join us for our June meeting!
