| Date/Time: | 01/11/2004 1:30 - 4:00 | | Type: | General Meeting | | Location: | Sunrise | | Teacher: | LMSG-Kathy Bourne |
For this general meeting, each member is to bring a project from her stash which she has chosen as her year long project. There will be a display for Show and Tell and each member will complete a form for a "contract". There will be a show and tell of completed - or not - projects at the December meeting and a number of prizes will be awarded. Highlights For show and tell, Carol Schaal brought two pieces of lace that she purchased at the Portobello Road market in London. One is Irish crochet: And the other is ribbon lace. | Marilyn Vanover brought a sampler that she had finished. It is the piece that we are featuring for our April workshop "Catherine Agnes" from Catherine Stickler of Indigo Rose. It was a great opportunity to see it close up. It's a small sampler with many types of stitches. Go ahead - sign up! It's small! You can get it done! The workshop will be fun! April Workshops | | | Next, it was time for the main topic of our meeting, the 2004 project. This year, Kathy Bourne decided to do something different. Instead of adding yet another item to our stash, she asked each member to pick an item from her stash and commit to completing it by December 2004. We went around the room and each member introduced herself, described what she had picked and why. Many brought partially completed projects for us to view. The big surprise was that many members picked two, three, four or even more projects! The consensus was that some of us just couldn't make up our minds so we picked multiple projects. Now all we have to do is get them done! We each filled out a form defining our selections and how much we want to get completed by December 2004. If you couldn't attend the meeting and you would still like to participate, please contact Kathy Bourne. It will be interesting to see how much progress members have made by our July stitch in. There will be prizes given out next December to those who have participated. The only one that has been announced is the prize for the least progress: a skein of DMC floss! Better get started on those projects, December is coming! | | Happy stitching! Hope to see you at our February 22nd meeting! |
