Join us on Sunday, June 24th to stitch the reproduction sampler of Marie Menanteau 1861.  This sweet sampler was originally stitched with thin yarn on canvas.  Fee Claudine, from lestrucsdefeeclobouclett.over-blog.com, has charted this piece and made it available to our guild.  The piece's stitch count is 188 x 194, making it approximately 10.5 x 10.75 inches when stitched over 2 on 36 count linen.  A great size to fill in a blank space on your wall.  Alphabet, flowering baskets, hearts, wreaths and birds with Marie's name and year make this a pleasurable (and quick?) piece to stitch.  The recharted sampler has ideas for contemporary thread colors to use or perhaps you will choose to stitch yours more closely to the original as pictured?  Bring your threads (they are not included) and imagination - there is no limit to the possibilities.  Contact Karyn Pechinski by June 1st if you would like her to order you an 18 x 18 piece of 36 count Edinborough Linen in either antique white, cream, or flax for $10.00 payable to her the day of the meeting.  Perhaps when we have a few in progress or completed,  we can share photographs of them with Fee Claudine for her blog in France?  A nice way to thank her for her generosity!  Hope to see you!
